1. Father, How Great Your Delight in the Son
Words & Music: Zac Hicks, 2013
©2013 Unbudding Fig Music (ASCAP)
1. Father, how great Your delight in the Son
Infinite joy ere the worlds were begun
The fullness of Love found in Him, with You one
Father, how great Your delight in the Son
2. Jesus, You reign at the Father’s right hand
In pleasure You rule o’er His sovereignty’s span
You joyfully follow the Father’s commands
Jesus, You reign at the Father’s right hand
And, now called into Your delight
As we strain to gaze at Your light
With the hosts of the heavens all veiling their sight,
We cry, ”Holy, holy, holy”…
3. Spirit, You light up the Father and Son
With pleasure You join their affections in One
So pour out their glory as we humbly come
Spirit, You light up the Father and Son
So we join Your myst’ry divine
As we sing Your Love before time
And we lift up our voices midst glory sublime
And cry, ”Holy, holy, holy”…
4. O worship the Father, immortal, in light
O worship the Son, at His right hand of might
O worship the Spirit, eternally bright
With saints, angels, elders, and martyrs in white
So we join the great One in Three
In the praise that ever shall be
And in Christ, through the Spirit, our Father we seek.
And cry, ”Holy, holy, holy”…

2. We Look to You
Words & Music: Zac Hicks & Julie Anne Vargas, 2013
©2013 Unbudding Fig Music (ASCAP), Julie Anne Vargas
1. We long to sing a story
Far greater than our own
Long to witness glory
Far brighter than is known
Lord, sound Your story’s song
Sing over us
We look to You, what You've done
Father, Spirit, in the Son
Death is dead, Victory won
Life forever has begun
Look to You, fix our eyes
On the work of Jesus Christ
It is finished, it is done
Praise the Father, Spirit, Son
2. And when with honest measures
We weigh our thoughts and deeds
We are left found wanting
In brokenness and need
Lord, sound Your story’s song
Sing over us
Lift up our heads to see
Christ glorious!
Bridge:
Our hope is in the cross
In what You’ve done for us
We look beyond ourselves
We look to Jesus

3. Father, Only in Your Power
Words & Music: Zac Hicks & Bruce Benedict, 2013;
with traditional “Kyrie” and “Agnus Dei”

1. Father, only in Your power
Can we ascend to You.
Help us, Father, we are helpless
To pay our righteous due.
2. Jesus, only in Your weakness
can we your kingdom claim
Help us, Jesus, we are reckless
in self-destruction’s chains
Lord, have mercy
Christ, have mercy
Lord, have mercy
3. Spirit, only in Your presence
can we true union find.
Help us, Spirit, we are restless
Our soul’s divisions bind.
Lamb of God,
Who takes away the sins of the world
Have mercy on us
Lamb of God,
Slain before the dawn of the world
Have mercy on us
4. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
Our ancient curse we own
Broken in the blood of Adam
The blood of Christ now show

4. Before the Father (It is Enough)
Words & Music: Zac Hicks, 2013
©2013 Unbudding Fig Music (ASCAP)
1. Before the Father
Two voices ever plead
Praying, interceding for us
Before the Father
They serve to meet our need,
Saying, "Look not on them but Us."
Jesus stands, pleading His blood for us
The Spirit kneels, groaning in prayer for us
And the Father hears their cry
2. Before the Father,
With all our sin laid bare:
Jesus pleads His wounding for us.
Before the Father,
We have no good to share:
Jesus pleads His goodness for us.
Jesus stands, pleading His blood for us
The Spirit kneels, groaning in prayer for us
And the Father hears their cry
The death of Christ has paid our price
It is enough, it is enough
The life of Christ is now our life
It is enough, it is enough
3. Before the Father,
While orphans with no home:
The Spirit pleads adoption for us;
Before the Father,
When prayers, they fail to come:
The Spirit prays in power for us.
Jesus stands, pleading His blood for us
The Spirit kneels, groaning in prayer for us
And the Father hears their cry
The death of Christ has paid our price
It is enough, it is enough
The life of Christ is now our life
It is enough, it is enough
The Spirit’s sigh: our "Abba!" cry
It is enough, it is enough
The Spirit’s prayer forever there
It is enough it is enough
Your death, O Christ, has paid our price
You are enough, You are enough
Your life, O Christ, is now our life
You are enough, You are enough

5. Open Our Eyes (Communion Hymn)
Words & Music: Zac Hicks & Bruce Benedict, 2012
©2012 Unbudding Fig Music (ASCAP), Cardiphonia Music
1. When we see the risen Savior
In the bread that He has blessed
He becomes the living servant,
Heavenly food for holy rest
Stay with us, for day is fading
Feast with us, O secret King
Show to us how Scripture’s story
Speaks of You in everything
Do not our hearts burn brightly now?
For You’re here among us now
2. Jesus, show Yourself the author
and perfecter of our faith
In Your living and Your dying,
Consummation of God's grace
From creation to the exile
Incarnation to the grave
Resurrection to ascension
Come, Lord Jesus, come to save
Do not our hearts burn brightly now?
For You’re here among us now
Open our eyes to see You, Christ
Risen, ascended, reigning high
Open our eyes, open our eyes to You
Feed us with living bread above
Bind us in union with Your Love
Open our eyes, open our eyes to You
3. You're the Word that spoke creation
You're the end of Moses' Law
You're the goal of Abram's blessing
You're the King whom David saw,
You're the Day the prophets longed for,
You're the covenant of grace,
You're the hero of the scriptures,
Now we see You face to face.
Do not our hearts burn brightly now?
For You’re here among us now
Bridge:
Cause us to remember God the Father
Cause us to remember God the Son
Cause us to remember God the Spirit
That we might share Your great delight O God
4. Jesus, show Yourself the Prophet
Jesus, show Yourself the King
Jesus show Yourself the priest
All in all, and everything

6. God Has Decided
Words: Zac Hicks, 2013
Music: Traditional Indian tune, “Assam”
©2013 Unbudding Fig Music (ASCAP)
1. God has decided to save my lost soul…
No turning back, no turning back
2. Christ has decided to die in my place…
No turning back, no turning back
3. The Holy Spirit now lives inside me…
No turning back, no turning back
4. The love of God will forever hold me…
He won’t let go, He won’t let go
No turning back, no turning back

The Magnificent Three is a small collection of songs whose themes all explore different facets of what it looks like to sing to and about the Trinity. It was inspired by an article written a few years ago by scholar Lester Ruth, entitled, “How Great is Our God: The Trinity in Contemporary Christian Worship Music.” In it was a challenging word that our worship songs may be losing touch with one of the core aspects of our faith—God’s three-in-oneness. The Magnificent Three explores Trinitarianism from the liturgical perspectives of Call to Worship (“Father How Great Your Delight in the Son”), Confession (“Father, Only in Your Power”), Salvation/Assurance (“We Look to You,” “Before the Father”), and the Lord’s Supper (“Open Our Eyes”).
Textually, the songs are the collaboration of songwriters Zac Hicks, Julie Anne Vargas, and Cardiphonia’s Bruce Benedict. Musically, The Magnificent Three is a diverse studio record—from electronic dance-pop, to bluesy 90s rock, with some 80s and gospel influences here and there.
The songs most often sung by the local congregation at Coral Ridge are “Father, Only in Your Power,” “Before the Father,” and “Open Our Eyes.”
